The origins of the Schönruh Hotel go far back:
Already in the middle of the 20th century Dr. Ernst Kotz hosted and treated guests from all over the world in the former Pension Kurheim (sanatorium).
His two sons Peter and Heinz successfully took over the then Pension Schönruh guesthouse, which soon underwent extensive renovations and has been converted into the Schönruh Hotel.
Until this day, the house is family-owned and the next generation family members are already actively involved.

Our Schönruh Hotel is nestled in a sunny and calm spot, only a couple of minutes from down town Ehrwald with its charming church square. Enjoy an oasis of calm in front of our doorstep - in the magical larch forest or the wide fields of the so-called Moos. All topped with breathtaking views of the majestic mountain range of the Mieminger Kette.
The lovely village of Ehrwald is embedded in a wide and particularly sunny basin, at the foot of the Wetterstein mountain range with the towering Zugspitze, the highest summit of Germany. The nature reserve "Ehrwalder Becken" includes parts of the high-plateau Moos. This old and partly drained moorland is the habitat for numerous animals and plants, some threatened with extinction.
